At the Barclays Campus in Glasgow, BDP has sensitively illuminated the public realm to create a new landscaped tranquil public space designed to encourage rest and dwell. The lighting features a series of low level and integrated details designed to complement the landscape. Tom Niven walks us through the ambitious scheme.
Bio
Tom has been with BDP since 2007 and leads the London team. He has designed schemes for large commercial developers and clients including Google, Grosvenor, BP, PWC and Barclays, learning the importance of people-centered design. He has an eye for balancing creativity with highly-technical design, blending the art and science of light. Tom has won numerous awards including a lighting design award in 2014 and BREEAM award in 2017. He has also lectured on the post-graduate course at Bath University and Diploma course at the West London School of Interior Design.
